They're Not for Everyone

Our regularly scheduled flashback will need to be postponed a week. I have something on my mind. Let's start at the beginning shall we? I get quarterly bonuses at work. Its that time. Lucky me. HM and I have our eye on a specific goal that we are trying to reach financially. As soon as we get there, this puppy is all mine:

Sweets, meet my soon to be new friend Infiniti G37 Sport Coupe
I am feeling pretty proud of myself lately because I have never been the best saver. Don't get me wrong, I have always maxed out my 401K, contributed to the ESPP, IRA and stuff, but there was room to be more studious. Enter HM. He is a good influence. Fast forward 4 years, enter It is a very good motivator. I already went on about the awesomness of this site a few posts ago so I will skip ahead. So this quarter I decided to do something smart with the money and put it towards our goal. HM was so impressed with my decision that he convinced me I should spend a little bit of it on something fun. Okay, convinced. That was easy. So after work yesterday, we swung by Nordstroms so that I could buy a pair of bright colored denim.

Oh how I swoon. As you probably know, I have been working out a lot. I have even dropped a size. I was feeling really good as I skipped (yes skipped) into the dressing room with an armful of glorious colored stretch denim. Spoiler alert: I didn't buy any of them. They all looked awful and I looked like a friggen Panda. Even super nice HM agreed. He followed it by saying things like, I have a more muscular body and they were made for emo kids not hot babes with curves. Thanks HM. I still left feeling so sad. I really love this look and I feel like I can't participate. HM tried to cheer me up by announcing Friday official TRY ALL COLORED DENIM AVAILABLE day. So that is what awaits me after work today. Wish me luck!

I know that I shouldn't feel bad if this look passes me by. There are other looks that work on me and I should celebrate that, right? Yeah I know....but still. Boo hoo.

I know the above photos don't capture my best camera ready face, but I had to dig them up because they are two of my favorite outfits. I always feel great when I am wearing them. Not so great when I am wearing tangerine skinny jeans. Fun fact, the MIL thinks I have old lady tastes in clothes. We were shopping and she held up a shirt and declared it an old lady print. HM and I just started laughing because I had recently bough the same shirt. I probably do have old lady tastes. I can't wait until I am old enough to wear those clogs and just forget about the bright skinny jeans.

What do you think the MIL would say about these?
Okay sweets, wish me luck today on operation bright skinny jeans!

  1. The MIL would say they are shoes for nurses.
