The Writing On The Wall

Dearest Sweets,

My day yesterday started early. I was at BifG at 7am and I was confronted by my trainer informing me that I would be completing the Filthy Fifty. I did not know what that was, but I didn't like the sound of fifty anything! Before she even explained it, she told me that if I could complete it, I could add my name to the gym wall with a sharpie. Um okay, that sounds like motivation I suppose.

The writing is on the wall....
The only thing I had to do was complete the list of exercises, 50 reps of each of the following:

Box Jumps
Pulls-Ups (jumping)
Walking Lunges (with 20lbs dumbbells)
Knee To Elbows (Olympic Rings)
Push Press (Olympic Bar)
Back Extensions
Ball Squats (Toss 8lbs medicine ball up and catch with squat)
Kettle Bell Swings (20lbs)
Double Unders (jump rope passing 2x on every jump)

Well guess what Sweets? At first I thought there would be no way in hell that I could complete it. Some stations were definitely harder than others. The Knee to Elbows almost did me in.

There should be one more photo showing my knees above my head
I eventually got into a grove and having my name on the wall sort of became a big focus to help me get through. As I write this post, my muscles are getting more and more sore. The good news Sweets is that I made it to the end of the workout in 46 minutes. That means I got to write my name on the wall. Writing my name felt good!!!!!

Do you see it? Right down there at the bottom! Ahh yeah!!!! I know a lot of the times on the wall are better, but I am still really proud of myself. As a result of powering through that workout, I have acquired a few bruises. I saw this cute poster and it total applies to my life:

Have you Sweets ever got through a really tough workout?

  1. Awwww Filthy Fifty! I still have nightmares about that WOD.
