Guess what? I actually got to sleep in yesterday! Unst unst unst! I woke up at 9:00am without an alarm clock. Actually it was 8:56am. I know this because I checked as soon as my eyes opened and shut off the 9:00 alarm I had set (didn't want HM to get cranky!)
I lay in bed reading my new bookclub book another 30 minutes before HM opened his peepers.
So far, so good
I think he is trying to catch snowflakes on his tongue
After Buckley's hike, HM and I went to the gym. He had agreed to let me lead the workout so I put him through a standard BifG workout. He was NOT happy about it. He is in shape for sure, but this type of workout is very anaerobic and it is definitely a different skill set. He wanted to quit and I said no and then he snarled at me. The dirty looks were real and I got a little scared. We finished before anyone got hurt and his mood lifted dramatically as soon as we left the gym.
Take note HM!
Later that night, I was preparing my dinner which consisted of rotisserie chicken (it smelled way too good when we were at the store doing our weekly shopping trip) Hawaiian dinner rolls, and a home made green juice. I wanted to use all of the left over produce from last weeks shopping trip so I went hunting in the produce drawers. That's when I decided something. I just plain don't trust beets. They are creepy little buggers.
I mean seriously. This is a cartoon beet and it still looks creepy. That tail....ekkk...and when they are covered in dirt.....ekkk. Like a rat that has been crushed by a stage coach. Oh yeah, in my mind beets are very 1900s. But hey, I was bound and determined to use up the rest of our produce.
even B-face wanted in on the juice action
And that is exactly what I did. One entire bunch of kale, 1 cucumber, 1 celery stalk, 2 beets (ekk!), 1 apple, and a couple chunks of honeydew. I was prepared to just suck it down as fast I could and call it nutrition, but it ended being a lot better than I expected (and as HM snidely added: "What a ringing endorsement"). Dare I say it bordered on good?
Okay, so that wraps up my weekend! I hope all you sweets have a great Monday!!
