Last week we had our end of the semester Kids In The Kitchen session. I would have to say that the whole experience has been fun....if not exhausting! My fear of children has subsided....a bit. I mean, don't I look like a natural?
I am not sure how much impact we had on the kids though. I like to think of it as a scale and that our lessons moved the kids a little closer towards the side of healthy choices. If nothing else, they had fun.
For anyone who has ever successfully lost weight, you know that success is just a series of small changes. If the kids choice one day a week to get chocolate milk at school and regular milk the rest of the time, then we would have one small change. Another small change I have noticed? What the heck happened to my Happy Meal?
The fries are half the size and it automatically comes with sliced apples. Okay fair enough. Oh and sweets? Don't bother commenting on the fact that I eat at McDonalds. I eat fast food about 4 times a year...so don't judge.
Anybody want to share a small change you have made to help you be healthier? I am sure we would all love to hear it. My small change? I would have to say working out at lunch.
